week ten assignment two

As a teacher I would like to develop relationships with my students where they will feel comfortable to communicate with me. When students feel comfortable in a classroom, they will likely learn better and reach their full potential. I also know of the importance of connecting with my students. In order to successfully deliver a lesson, I have to know the best way to communicate it over to my students so that they understand.  The use of technology would be a great way to engage students and create real world connections. Today, technology plays a huge role in our students lives therefore it is crucial for us teachers to incorporate technology into our lessons. Incorporating technology is a must, not only for connecting to our students, but for preparing them for the real world.

Week #4 Assignment #2

week 4 assignment 1

To determine the desired results for my students, I had to think of what I wanted my students to learn and take away at the end of the lesson. When I was coming up with essential questions, I thought of questions that will get my students thinking and help me reach my desired goals. I thought of questions that will help lead me to my next point. Essential questions are so important because they help the students stay focused and constantly thinking. I determined what knowledge and skills I wanted my students to take away from the lesson based on my personal goals, what will help the students in the future, the schools guidelines, and the states standards.

week 2 assignment 3

Backward design is an educational planning approach. The first step in backward design is when we set long term goals and prioritize what we want to teach. Teachers need to  give their students the tools that they need to take what they know and what they will learn, and make connections. It is so important to give the students the tools and skills they need in order to take what they know to unfamiliar situations.  The second step is when we assess our students. The last step is when we plan learning experiences and seeing if our goals were accomplished.
